Like a memory of a favorite beach holiday or a taste of a favorite dessert, Coconut Blanket uses sweet, tropical notes to set the mood. This is a gourmand fragrance, but it’s not overly sugary — no cupcake-y body spray here! Instead, perfumer Cristiano Canali has concocted a playful, effortlessly sophisticated gourmand, a coconut fragrance for people who don’t necessarily think of themselves as coconut-lovers.
Coconut Blanket’s opening evokes coconut water with a sprig of mint, for a refreshing introduction that’s followed by a mouth-watering effect of shredded fresh coconut, a few drops of pure vanilla, and a lightly boozy amber. A sandalwood basenote lends its own natural creaminess as a conclusion. Indulgent but not heavy-handed, this is a gentle hug of a perfume, satisfying but never overwhelming.
