Cuir Pampas began as a vision of a lone horseman riding across the grassy plains of Argentina. Working with perfumer Irina Burlakova, Frassaï founder Natalia Outeda imagined the solitary gaucho and the natural splendour of the scene around him, from the vegetation of the pampas to the wide-open skies and rolling hills in the distance. Cuir Pampas uses traditionally “masculine” fragrance notes with a softer touch: a sueded leather, green vetiver leaves in the sunlight, sheer wisps of campfire smoke. At the end of a long ride, a nomadic horseman savours some herbaceous and bracing yerba maté, the traditional drink of Argentina. Dynamic, alert, yet also relaxed, Cuir Pampas layers perfectly with El Decanso or Rosa Sacra, the other fragrances from Frassaï’s El Sur trio.
