Teisenddu’s spicy-sweet composition was inspired by a cake recipe originally brought to South America by Welsh immigrants and passed down through the generations as torta galesa. One sniff, and you’ll understand why this indulgence is still beloved by many Argentinians: Teisenddu translates the cake’s ingredients of nutmeg, ginger, and anise, nuts and fruit soaked in rum, all topped with dark sugar crystals, into smell.
